What does a scent mean to you?

Everyone has a scent they love. Something that reminds them of a happy time, favourite holiday, occasion etc.

All fragrances have a story behind them and these brand new scents are no exception.

Younique fragrances are named after love letters between co-founder Melanie and her then boyfriend, now husband.

We all remember the typical love letters we would write to people we liked – spritz with a bit of fragrance to make the letter smell of you…..that’s exactly the story behind these.

Each scent is named after a sign off for a letter:

Dreaming of You, Me x

Passionately Yours, Me x

Yours and Only Yours, Me x

All the scents are so unique to each other and there is definitely something for everyone.

Currently we have a woody scent, an oriental scent and a fresh scent.

I’m not going to go into detail on all the individual scents, but I will talk a little bit about my favourite scent, Dreaming Of You, Me.

Growing up so close to the seaside, I have very fond memories of spending time down there, building sandcastles, eating ice creams from the ice cream van and having walks on the sand. There’s something so peaceful listening to the waves crashing on the rocks and watching the sea – I could watch it all day.

When I met my now partner, our first holiday was on a cruise – something I had always wanted to do. Being out at sea and seeing different countries was so special. From this very moment, we made it ‘our thing’ to go on a cruise for our annual holiday. We had so many amazing cruises and I am so very grateful for those memories.

Then we had our daughter and as you can imagine, our money went on her instead of luxury holidays.

For me, ‘Dreaming Of You’ is such a fresh scent and reminds me of being close to the sea. Nothing but clean fresh air surrounding you and so calming.

One day, we will experience this with our daughter and we can tell her about all the amazing cities we have visited; maybe she will love the tranquility of being at sea too – and maybe see a few dolphins at the same time! πŸ‹πŸ¬

Let me know what your favourite scent is in the comments and if it reminds you of anything πŸ’œπŸ’œ
